Trust yourself. Know that deep inside you have the strength, courage, and conviction to speak

I had the good fortune of growing up on an apple orchard in Okanogan, Washington. Because we didn’t have close neighbors I spent a great deal of time alone outside climbing trees, playing with my dogs in the orchard, creating imaginary friends (one sister is 7 years older and my other sister is 8 years younger) or following my father everywhere. I later worked in the orchard changing sprinklers, thinning apples and driving the tractor and even milked the cow when needed.

After completing my BA degree and later my MA in education from Central Washington

University I spent thirty years working in the Eastmont School District as a classroom teacher, a

Special Programs Director and an elementary principal. Because of my passion for ensuring that all children learn I worked an additional twelve years as an educational consultant in the state and region fully retiring in 2016.

My husband Ed and I are blessed with a daughter and son, two wonderful granddaughters and are now thrilled with three great grandchildren, two are active boys and one is a very spunky girl!

We have lived in East Wenatchee for 52 years. It was a wonderful place to rear our children and the beauty of the region, its many resources, and our family, friends and neighbors are why we hope to never leave!
