Carl Bergren was born in Leavenworth in 1930 and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1949. He then left for California where he received his BS in Graphic Design from San Jose State University. He served in the army from 1952 to 1954. After college he went to work for FMC Corporation where he was the art director for the publication department. He retired in 1986 and in 1989 moved back home to Leavenworth with his wife Sheila, built a home and has enjoyed and appreciated the natural beauty and activities of the Leavenworth area.
