Be curious, keep learning, then the knowledge you have gained can be given back to others.

I was born in 1944 in Colfax, Washington and raised on a wheat farm near the small town of

Lacrosse, Washington. I was an only child but nearby were grandparents, aunts and uncles, and

6 cousins. There were many opportunities to keep a boy busy. After graduating from Lacrosse

High School, I attended Eastern Washington College in Cheney Washington. I majored in

Industrial Arts in Education. I graduated in 1967 and accepted my first teaching job in Othello.

I accepted another teaching position in 1972 in Cashmere, where I taught for 9 years.

An opportunity happened that allowed me to change careers to become a general contractor

building custom homes. Building homes was very fulfilling and I built and remodeled over 150

homes and several businesses in 30 years. In addition to Ryan Construction, LLC I also started

two other businesses, Northwest Door and Millwork and Ryan Storage.

I married my college girlfriend in 1969. It has been a wonderful 53 years of marriage and 4

children, 7 grandchildren. We are now starting construction of our fourth home together.

Currently, I spend my time with my wife traveling, seeing grandchildren, and volunteering. I am

involved in Cashmere with our Cashmere Community Church, Rotary, the 9/11 Memorial, and

the Cashmere Museum. I am also restoring two 1966 Ford Mustang cars.

It’s a good life!
